Kyodo Taiko
Kyodo Taiko is the nation's first and oldest collegiate taiko drumming team. Founded in 1990, members have throughout the years wowed audiences with Kyodo's flashy style and performance-oriented approach to traditional Japanese taiko. Kyodo performs as a team at many events around the UCLA campus and greater Southern California area. They also perform at UCLA NSU's annual Cultural Nights and host annual Spring Concerts on the UCLA campus. Kyodo has two meanings, one is "family", and the other is "loud children".
NSU Modern
NSU Modern is one of UCLA's premiere hip-hop dance teams and is home to some of the university's most versatile and talented dancers. Its members are proud to represent the Nikkei Student Union, UCLA's only Japanese American student association. Comprised of multi-ethnic Bruins from various dance backgrounds, NSU Modern strives to perform a variety of dance styles.
